In 1992 some Christians dreamed of a church without pretense. We dreamed that people could encounter God and find life-changing faith in Jesus that would heal them and make them whole. We envisioned small groups (Homegroups) helping us to experience a true family in Jesus Christ. From that dream Dayspring Fellowship was born.

We describe who we want to be with words what we call the Seven Words: love, acceptance, and forgiveness; transparency, integrity, authenticity, community.

Our church’s vision is to be a community church, reaching people in our neighborhood and through our personal circles, so together we can share deep personal relationships and develop passionate devotion to Jesus Christ. Our mission statement is:

Dayspring Fellowship exists to help each other use our God-given gifts and abilities to obey God’s command:

“Offer Christ to Durham and the world.”

We know that the vision God gave us is not about a destination (a perfect church filled with perfect people), but a journey in and through Jesus to wholeness, peace and meaning. None of us has arrived, but together we joyfully walk the path of freedom and grace we have found through faith in Jesus Christ. So we offer this invitation: walk along with us and seek God’s path for your life.
